Telltale Signs [Official Music Video] - Jess Weimer - With Almost Cool

Jess Weimer is a singer, song-writer, violinist, guitarist, part-time rapper, and a traveler of the yellow brick road. She hails from the Land of Oz (aka Kansas) and has a passion for performing. She has a background in orchestra, musical theater, and Bluegrass-fiddle bands. Jess' inspirations vary from Ella Fitzgerald and Patsy Cline to Lorde and Ingrid Michaelson. If you see a fiddler on the roof, it might be her.An eclectic musical history has shaped Jess into the artist she is today - classical training on the violin, musical theater, chamber orchestra, a bluegrass fiddle band and singing in sign-language. January 2017 saw the release of her 4-song debut EP Until You Drop. This unique and catchy release is indie-pop driven with jazzy influences, highlighting Weimer’s clean vocals and songwriting prowess. The songs of Until You Drop showcase a musical range varying from soulful vocals, to upbeat instrumentals, to dynamic production—all while maintaining a signature Jess Weimer sound. Produced by the dynamic duo Beto Vargas and Mert Özcan at The Record House, Until You Drop paints a powerful story with each song. Title single, Until You Drop,
is full of hauntingly captivating beats and presents a relevant message
regarding the harmful standards associated with body image. The song
challenges the acceptance of said standards with clever word play and
mesmerizing melodies. “We’ve barely scratched the surface of questioning
harmful social norms. It’s time to set boundaries on superficiality for
our audiences and give them something with a quality message to sing
along to,” says Weimer. “I want my music to resonate with people because
it encapsulates the human experience and reminds everyone that we’re
never alone. It’s all going to work out.”

The music video for Telltale Signs, Weimer’s first single, was
released in early 2016 and conveys the importance of finding love in a
partner that fully embraces who you are without expecting you to alter
yourself. Each song on the EP stands alone with unique qualities but
they all collectively fit together in a thoughtful narrative. Some
tracks have a jazzier, live feel with a full band while others feature
poignant poppy mixtures of complex production and instrumentation.

In addition to singing and writing, Jess Weimer is also a violinist, guitarist, and a passionate dreamer. She left her hometown of Wichita, Kansas to pursue her dreams in Los Angeles. She
has an eclectic musical background including a bluegrass-fiddle band,
musical theater, and chamber orchestra. Weimer’s inspirations vary from
Ella Fitzgerald and Amy Winehouse to Lorde and Ingrid Michaelson. When
she’s not making music, you can find her
learning a new language, advocating for positivity and social justice,
or following along with an aerobics workout video from the ’80’s. Her positive spirit and zest for life is nothing short of contagious.

After having the music video for Telltale Signs under her belt, and freshly releasing her first EP, Until You Drop, Weimer is eager to make more music and keep the ball rolling.
