ep11. UNTOUCHABLE - Kaiju The Unconquerable

Kaiju The Unconquerable Returns With A New Episode:  ep.11 “UNTOUCHABLE”

One part MF DOOM, one part living breathing Anime story line,
Southwest Miami rapper Kaiju The Unconquerable is in a lane all his
own. A glorified, self-identified nerd, he started rocking stages at
comic conventions – and even has the credit of being the first Hip-Hop
artist ever to be featured in Shonen Jump, which has been the (print)
ground-zero of all things Manga since it was launch 49 years ago.

Kaiju differs from other “weirdo” rappers, though – unlike
an act like DOOM, he isn’t a character (per say). His songs and his
image don’t hinge on each other to coexist. He uses a healthy amount
comic and anime references, but no more than your average nerd-core
spitter and thrives on a wave-appropriate trappish vibe.

“Kaiju
cant die goes to a bar for a drink, when a biker approaches Kaiju he
trys to tell him he’s not suppose to be in here because where kaiju
goes trouble follows. Kaiju then breaks arm of biker for his disrespect
but all of sudden during his exited of the bar. Kaiju finds “deadly
rose” his ex wife walking in with shotgun once two notices each other
the shootout commences. Leaving kaiju with a shot leg he escapes from
the ordeal and rushes heads home. As Kaiju arrives Deadly rose snuck in
waiting in his living room in his hide out. Kaiju is then seen packing
to rush to leave town, but Deadly rose spots him attempts to shoot
Kaiju as he escapes upstairs. As he enters the kitchen he finds their
is nowhere to hide ,he then grabs a chair and waits behind a
wall.Deadly rose walks in slowly and notices a chair missing, Kaiju
hits her with the chair knocking the gun out her hand. When Kaiju trys
to trip her she does a back flip in his arms in his attempt to grab
her and subdue her. Her martial art skill of wingchun allowing her to
block every punch kaiju threw. She then takes a grenade out her jacket
pocket and pleads with kaiju not to kill both of them. Kaiju trys his
best to persuade her to put the grenade down by complimenting her. As
soon as Deadly roase gaurd is down Kaiju calls her crazy and pulls the
pin out the grenade then kicks her into the kitchen. Deadly rose
knowing she wont win kaiju throws grenade blowing up the kitchen. Do
they survive? Thats to be determine in the next episode”

Kaiju
The Unconquerable is one of those artists that fails to ever settle
into anything – in the best way possible. The shift in tone from
“CYBERPUNK 2050” to “Ultraman” should a ton of range, with the quality
of the video being the constant. While staying to a similar format,
Kaiju manages to continually reinvent his sound, making each piece of
his puzzle fit together while also standing out from the crowd.

UPTOWN XO "PIMP HARDER PT2" - OFFICIAL MUSIC VIDEO

“I gotta tell the city’s story now that it’s gone.”

That lyric hits hard and early on “Culture Over Corporate,” the first
of several new albums from the veteran District rapper Uptown XO. But
it’s the final syllable that leaves the bruise. With his hometown awash
in gentrification, XO knows the city he grew up in isn’t disappearing.
It’s gone.

He’s still here, though, and his strange surroundings have changed
how he raps. “I used to write street stories, but lyrically, I’m past
that,” XO explains over lunch – a bright orange plate of General Tso’s
at an eatery on 14th Street NW. “I want to preserve, not my truth, but
the truth. My stories aren’t as important as the overall story of
oppression… I want to motivate people to think so that we’re not being
taken advantage of by what we don’t know – which is most business
models. Consume, consume, consume. But intellectually, we’re still
starving.”

OFFICIAL VIDEO RELEASE FROM UPTOWN XO OFF HIS NEW ALBUM "CULTURE OVER
CORPORATE" PRODUCED BY DREW DAVE THAT WAS RELEASED JANUARY 1, 2020. YOU
CAN GET THE ALBUM OR STREAM IT ON ALL MAJOR DIGITAL PLATFORMS. WE HOPE
YOU ENJOY.... PIMP HARDER PT2!!!!

Step out on 14th Street and look both ways. You’ll see capitalism
thriving in every direction, from the luxury condos built for moneyed
new residents to the high-end retail chains catering to them. It’s a new
kind of urban blight being lamented most vividly in rap songs like XO’s
“City Feel,” a blissfully percussive tune that memorializes the sunnier
side of yesteryear, but with an explicit reminder that things “will
never be the same.”

Musically, XO’s D.C. roots run deeper than the open mic nights on U
Street NW where he learned to rap as a teenager, and where he eventually
met his future supergroup collaborators, Oddisee and yU of Diamond
District. Decades back, XO’s grandfather managed the proto-go-go group
the Young Senators. His father is a jazz drummer who once played with
Gil Scott Heron. His mother studied saxophone at Howard University and
performs in the marching band for Washington’s NFL franchise.

Funneling all that history into his rhymes, XO hopes that his music
can help listeners envision the D.C. of tomorrow. To make that happen,
not every lyric needs to hit hard.

“The earth is spinning around – the power is there, but it’s subtle,”
XO says. “The power of your breath, the power of your heartbeat: It’s
subtle. When it’s snowing, it comes down subtle. It might cover the city
and pile up eight feet high, but it’s subtle.”

As he waves his fingertips flurry-like over the tabletop, the brain
of an image-minded lyricist silently kicks into action. “Subtlety is
where the power lies,” he says. “In music, in everything.”

Kory Burns - Follow The Leader (Official Music Video)

When I decided to write Follow The Leader, It was a form of release
for me. I was in a dark place mentally, spiritually & physically. It
took me a while to get out that and this song put a lot of things in
perspective for me. I never go to far with detail on any of my songs
because I want people to interpret them in their own way. For the most
part, this song represents knowing your self worth and staying true to
who you are and not changing for anybody regardless of what they can
offer or do for you, even when you feel like all hope has been lost.

I worked with Andrew Colton on this project. Andrew and I have been
working together since my very first video for my very first single
Count The Ways and I’m very grateful to still be working with him today.
his entire team has been so great to work with. It’s very easy to work
with Andrew and it feels very natural. He always gets my ideas and then
takes them to another place. I I love collaborating in general so
collaborating with somebody like Andrew is a godsend for me.” - Kory Burns

As soon as the song “Dreamlover” by Mariah Carey struck the airwaves,
Kory Burns a South Florida native began his passion for music. Even in
the adolescence of 14 years old, he knew there was no stopping until he
reached the top. Discovering his soon to be known talent, Betty Wright
came into the scene and found a diamond in the rough unexpectedly at his
Uncle’s successful Christmas tree business in Miami. From the first
note, Betty knew she had found a star ready to shine. Pursuing his dream
and becoming recognized by the unknown woman that would soon later
shape his future, he belted out the octaves that turned to gold.
Inspired by many early 90’s artists, Kory had prided himself in a unique
mix of pop and R&B. His well-known track “Runaway” is a prime
example of this multi-talented performer’s appeal.

As an innovator in the South Florida music scene, Kory has made his
debut and stuck to his well-known reputation as a stand out artist.
Always staying true to his roots as a writer and hands-on co-producer,
he is always making magic behind the scenes. He has since performed for
Miami Music Week, Grammy in the schools held at the University of Miami
for the Grammy Association, the Martin Luther King Day parade and
Sunfest to name a few. His music is on all major music platforms on the
internet and satellite radio. There is no stopping the depth of this
true dream maker.
